6th Form Football

On Wednesday afternoon the 6th form football team played Camp Hill at Southam.
Southam started the game brightly and passed the ball neatly and threatened down both flanks. Southam had a number of opportunities to score but the Camp Hill goalkeeper was in fine form and Southam couldn’t make the breakthrough.
Camp Hill took an unexpected lead through what can only be described as a wonder strike from 25 yards into the top right corner. This was the only score in the first half.
A few tactical tweaks at half time allowed Southam to get back into the game. The play was dictated by Finn in CM who was linking with both Riley and Chris up front. Southam finally equalised through Owen who had his initial chance saved before scoring the harder opportunity!
Southam had chances to win the game but yet again found the goalkeeper making remarkable saves. The game opened up in the last 10 minutes and both teams had chances to win the game but neither team could capitalise on their chances.
Full time score 1-1.
An entertaining game played at a good tempo by both sets of players. Man of the match goes to Owen for an excellent performance.
