Sixth Form Football

Wednesday afternoon saw the 6th form team take the short trip to Princethorpe for a football fixture.

On a small pitch, Southam struggled to keep possession of the ball despite a number of half chances that were offered up. Once Southam got used to the pitch the team clicked through the gears and opened the scoring through an own goal after a free kick from James. Cam had a couple of chances as well as being a strong attacking presence all game. Unfortunately, Princethorpe levelled against the run of play before more good attacking play gave Southam a corner. Southam scored a 2nd goal with there being some debate as to whether Will scored or if it was an own goal! Southam had chance to extend their lead further from the penalty spot but the effort was saved. A 3rd goal did come for the hardworking Cam.

The second half continued in much the same way with lots of neat play but lacking the final pass to score more goals. Xian made a great double save before Cam grabbed his 2nd of the game and the final goal of the game to give Southam a 4-1 win.

A good team performance with a comfortable win. Well done gents.
