Well done to all the students who attended the pancake revision event. We were extremely impressed by the dedication and commitment from each and every student who attended. There were exceptional subject seminars created and presented by the students across 15 different examination based subjects and exemplary work on display for the ‘excellence exhibition’ showing students effort to revise for their exams.
We welcomed Jackie Reeves from Mind who led a stall providing information, advice and guidance on how to deal with exam stress, coping with student life and other issues young people can face. We would like to thank Jackie for her time, it was extremely beneficial for students to have the opportunity to discuss mental health and we look forward to Jackie continuing her work with students in Sixth Form. Miss P Brown also offered a stall on how to study effectively.
Over 150 pancakes were consumed by the students, kindly cooked by Mr Bradbury and Mr D Johnson outside in Mr Bradbury’s campervan! Throughout the event, the more students learned, the more pancakes and topping vouchers they could earn! The event ended with a random name generator prize draw. All those who took part were entered, 1stPrize went to Will Chapman, 2ndprize to Ella M Gardner and a selection of students were nominated for their detailed ‘take away’ booklet to also received 3rdprize items. We would like to say thank you to all the staff who gave up their time to support the event. We hope everyone had a happy pancake day- we certainly did!
All the best for the final weeks of Sixth Form Year 13, keep revising!
Mr Bradbury and Mrs Campbell-Birch
