Milly Koch and Alex Thompson from Year 12 have been chosen to participate in the Lessons From Auschwitz Project, which is organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust. Along with Mrs Meredith, they spent some time at a seminar last weekend – meeting a Holocaust survivor and preparing for their trip to Poland.
Today they have all attended a one day trip to Poland, visiting Oświęcim to see what life was like in the town during the early 20th century and then onto the camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. They had the opportunity to hear about the lives of people who were deported to the camps and to see the sites for themselves.
Our students were part of a large group from across the Midlands, participating in a three part course across two weeks in order to further their knowledge of the Holocaust and it’s impact.
