Sixth Form Netballers narrowly miss out to Princethorpe

The Sixth Form netball team captained by Amy C, had their first proper match this afternoon. The girls had a fantastic first quarter leading Princethorpe after the first 12mins. Some great balls in to the circle by Cerys and Nomie meant that the shooters could sneak ahead.

The match continued to be tight through out the second and third quarters seeing Southam only ever being ahead by 2 at anytime. The defensive unit of Amy, Katie and Alice D played a vital part in keeping the Princethorpe score as low as possible by blocking and making regular turnovers.

The final quarter saw Princethorpe come alive and even the score out within the first 2mins. After that the game went goal for goal with Marie and Maddie evening the score each time. Unfortunately Princethorpe got the last turn over of the game and managed to finish the game 22-21 in their favour.

A fantastic match to watch and it’s lovely to see how much you girls have all improved over the last few years.

A great way to prepare for the Netball tour to Condover Hall this weekend for year 10, 11 and sixth form.

Well done,
Mrs Turton
